Hall of Famer Mike Avila is still giving back to the sport he loves.
The Avila Family has just established two new $2500 scholarships to honor their parents, Lucille Avila Ortiz and Richard Avila.
The Scholarships will be awarded starting in 2022 to water sports athletes who preferably compete in National Water Ski Racing Association (NWSRA) events or if there are not any applicants from the NWSRA, then the applicants must demonstrate strong athletic abilities, strong academic standings, and be involved in good community service projects in the Western Region of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports.
