Our friend and supporter, Steve Lohr, is still giving back to the sport he loved! Steve recently passed away, but he had arranged for a new college scholarship for young water skiers.
The Steve & Ann Lohr Water Ski College Scholarship will be awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year. The $3000 scholarship is funded by the EverBless Foundation to support the educational pursuits of exceptional students involved in water skiing and/or with the USA Water Ski and Wake Sports Foundation.
"This is an incredible way to continue the Lohr Family Legacy in water skiing and beyond. We are honored they have chosen the foundation to be a conduit for water skiing and academic dreams," says USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation President Brenda Nichols Tate.
Applicants must attend a trade, four-year, two-year, community college, or other similar institution designed to further their education and may be in any year of study.
Students must demonstrate commitment to three-event water skiing and have a successful competitive record in the sport. The applicant need not be an overall skier, but the greater the success in multiple events, the better. Priority will be given to applicants from Steve's home state of Virginia or the Eastern Region.

Established in 1968, the USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation celebrates the history of all towed water sports and promotes these sports through our Scholarship Programs and the Water Ski & Wake Sports Hall of Fame.
