Not only formed, but also served as the first president of the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation. A serious jumping accident ended Bubolz's 10 years in competitive water skiing and began his interest as a volunteer on the "administrative side" of the sport. While a member of AWSEF, he has served as vice president and on the board of Trustees from 1974-1980.
