Carlos Maciel is believed to be the youngest of his era to be both a senior judge and senior driver at a claimed age of 20. He drove many Eastern Region Tournaments, several Eastern Regionals, and the 1976 Nationals. He served on the AWSA board and was Chairman of the boat drivers committee for 10 years. Also he served on the AWSEF board 1985-89 and 1998-2000.
