An early star in the water ski tricks event, winning the World Championship Trick title in 1957. He was also an accomplished Show Skier and competed in several mixed doubles events where he was partnered with Vicki Van Hook. The duo won doubles at the 1957 National Championships. He was strong in all three events of traditional water skiing.
