The USA Water Ski Foundation Hall of Fame proudly awards this expression of esteem and appreciation to Skip Gilkerson. His outstanding achievements and contributions to the sport of water skiing have earned him worldwide recognition and admiration.

Known throughout the water ski community as "Mr. Show Ski," Skip will be remembered as one of the sport's greatest ambassadors whose extraordinary contribution have greatly influenced show skiing.  His natural showmanship, exciting performances, and years of dedication will continue to impact the sport for generations to come.

 

Skip has gone above and beyond to enhance water skiing's positive image on society, broaden the sport's appeal throughout the world, and whose integrity and dignity set him apart in a special and unique way.

 

For all Skip's accolades and honors as a water skier, coach, innovator, and mentor, he remained completely true to himself - a rare example of authentic character excellence and a lasting role model.
