Currently serving as a Board member in his 23rd year of the American Water Ski Educational Foundation, holding offices of vice president, president and chairman of the board. He was a member of the Water Ski Hall of Fame Selection Committee for 13 years, serving as chairman for six. A member of USA Water ski since 1959, Hicks has served as a regional executive vice president, a senior judge, U.S.A. Team coach and U.S.A. Team manager. He has skied in 27 US Nationals and a team member of the 1985, 1989 World Masters Games.
