At the age of 12 set the Girls National Slalom record of 2.5 buoys at 35 feet off. At 14, she was the youngest female to successfully challenge on the International Water Ski Tour. She was a member of the U.S.A. Junior Team at the inaugural Junior Worlds in Milan, Italy, her slaloms performance contributed to the team winning. In 1984 she was the first in the Girls Division to run a full 35' off in a tournament. She competed in the World Championships in 1987 - 89, winning a gold medal on both occasions.
