The first boat recognized as a Hall of Fame Legacy of Water Skiing: Ski Ray, by Sea Ray Boats was an American Water Ski Association (AWSA) Tournament Certified Tow boat produced from 1991 to 1999. Sea Ray built a five-model line-up of both entry level and tournament class water ski boats throughout the 1990s.

Designed by World Champion Ricky McCormick and National level skier Bobby Reich, the 190SK towboat was the exclusive towboat for the Professional Association of Water Skiers (PAWS) Water Ski Tour. It also was the official towboat of the Ski Ray Professional Series in 1991-1992. The Ski Ray Wakeboard Series was the first cash- prize wake-board tour ever held. Numerous records were established behind Ski Rays and the boats were frequently used on the intercollegiate circuit; in fact the Rollins College skiers trained behind a Ski Ray during the early 1990s.

Ski Ray produced five models, an entry level 16- foot Ski Ray outboard; a 190SK Outboard with a closed bow and an open bow configuration; the 19-foot Speedster closed bow inboard, a three-event tournament certified boat; the 19-foot Sportster inboard open bow model; and the 18.5 foot Spitfire inboard, also a certified tournament model. Sea Ray discontinued the line in 1999 to focus on more general recreational and stern drive wakeboard models.
