After graduation from college, Tim's first purchase was a ski boat.

Tim was born on October 22, 1951, the son of Charles W. and Carmene Cassetty Denny.  A lifelong resident of Lebanon, he was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he was a charter member of the Eta Nu Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.

Tim got the water skiing bug as a teenager, first learning to ski behind a rustic outboard boat owned and operated by his best friend and skiing buddy, A.G. Marks.  Upon graduation from college and securing employment, Tim’s first purchase was a boat, a Mercury split windshield outboard.  After A.G.’s tragic untimely death in a car accident in 1978, Tim began to concentrate on competitive skiing and being an official.

He was inducted into the Tennessee Water Ski Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Vic Varallo Award for unselfish and dedicated service to the Tennessee Water Ski Association.  He was a dedicated Judge and Scorer for the American Water Ski Association (AWSA).  Tim was Chief Judge of the Southern Regional Championships in 2003 and 2005 and an appointed judge at the Water Ski Nationals. He worked tirelessly judging and giving clinics for aspiring scorers and judges.

At the time of his death, Tim held the Men’s 5 Tennessee State Trick Record with 1,660 points and was Secretary and Treasurer for the Tennessee Water Ski Association and the Southern Region.  He also served as a Middle Tennessee Councilman and Director for the State.

Tim was a Certified Public Accountant and owner of Denny & Denny, C. P.A. in Lebanon.  He was also active in his church and the Lebanon Lions Club.

Tim passed away suddenly on October 9, 2009 after a brief illness.

Tim’s dry sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all.
