Daniel Standage from University of Utah has been awarded the $6,000
Hickey Family Scholarship.
“When I got the call saying I was selected for the 2026 Hickey Family Scholarship from the USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation I cried. Like many others, for me getting through college is financially stressful. To be selected for this scholarship has already alleviated so much financial pressure and I am very grateful to the Hickey Family for their generosity.” - Daniel
I got the call saying I was selected for the 2026 Hickey Family Scholarship from the USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation the week of my wedding, which was a very financially stressful time. I work two jobs while also attending school full-time; I have gladly given so much of my time, effort and money to establish the Waterski Team at The University of Utah. This scholarship money will alleviate a lot of the financial burden I have taken upon myself. I am very grateful to the Hickey Family for their generosity.
Established in 2022, the Ed HIckey scholarship is to be awarded to the outstanding male applicant who attends a four-year accredited college or trade school and skis primarily in AWSA, NCWSA, or USA-AWSWS tournaments. The applicant must demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and volunteerism.
