Laura Rucks is Awarded the 2025 C.W. “Bill” and Teddy Wenner Scholarship

Laura Rucks from Clemson University has been awarded the $1,000 C.W. “Bill” and Teddy Wenner Scholarship.

“I am honored to have earned the 2025 C.W. “Bill” and Teddy Wenner Scholarship. I am thrilled to further pursue my academic endeavors and uphold a standard of excellence within the water ski community!” says Laura.

“I cannot wait to continue working hard to give back to the water ski and wake sports community!”

Laura Rucks is a student in the Clemson University Honors College, where she takes on challenging coursework while maintaining a strong academic record. As a Lyceum Fellow, she engages in in-depth discussions on political philosophy and related topics through a structured academic program. Laura has earned President’s List honors for the past three semesters by maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Her commitment to service includes volunteering as a Clean Boats, Clean Water Boat Inspector in central Wisconsin, helping to prevent the spread of invasive species in local waterways. Additionally, she is an active member of Alpha Chi Omega, where she advocates for domestic violence awareness through campus events like “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” and other outreach efforts that support victims and raise awareness of available resources.

Established in 2025 the scholarship is to be awarded to the outstanding male or female applicant who attends a two or four year accredited college or accredited trade school and skis primarily in AWSA, NCWSA, or USA-AWSWS tournaments. The applicant is to demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, leadership and volunteerism.
