Catching up with 2019 USA-WWF Scholarship Winner and Barefooter Alex Youngblood

Our scholarship program is our pride and joy. We love supporting the future of our sport by supporting our young student-athletes. We just finished announcing our 2020 Award Winners and wanted to check in with some of the winners from the not-so-distant past.

Alex Youngblood, winner of the 2019 Jennifer Renee Odom - Dave Kammerer Memorial Barefoot Scholarship is attending Michigan State University and majoring in Exercise Science. Alex says she hopes to become a professional athletic trainer.

Alex works and goes to school so the foundation scholarship has taken some of the stress off this year. She took the last school year off to train for the 2020 IWWF Elite World Barefoot Championships in Sydney, Australia. Alex was part of two Junior Barefoot World Champion Teams in 2016 and 2018.

Next summer, she hopes to intern in Miami and do some barefooting in South Florida! Before Alex left for Michigan State this year... she took time to record this video for us!

Good Luck Alex!
